Laura Soblotne, President, started in project management in 1998 and investing in real estate in 2003 through buying and selling distressed homes, rehabbing properties, and building new single family homes in Virginia Beach, VA. She was President of Soblotne Contracting, LLC, a General Contractor, for ten years. She oversaw the building of new residential construction and full home remodel projects.
Laura is a native of Norfolk, VA and is a graduate of Norfolk Collegiate School, VA Tech, and has advanced degrees from ODU and Liberty University. She also owns CustomOrganization, LLC and is a Professional Lifestyle Organizer, Coach, and Consultant. She enjoys furthering her real estate education through attending various training programs throughout the country. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters, in which they frequent the beach and pool, stand up paddleboarding, music and dancing. She also appreciates traveling, yoga, exercise, and attending community events.
Mike Makela, Vice President, started investing in real estate in 2002 by buying an investment house 2 blocks from his own house in Virginia Beach. He expanded the portfolio by targeting other desirable and affordable areas in Virginia Beach. Through other acquisition, single family houses, duplexes, and multi units were acquired in Norfolk. He has assisted home owners in avoiding foreclosures and provided quality housing to his tenants. His experience also includes several full model rehabs and one new construction house.
Mike is a 1994 graduate of the Naval Academy, who served on the USS Enterprise as a Nuclear Power Engineering Officer. He has a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He has served as a Financial Analyst and Assistant Controller. He currently is also a Business consultant, advising large to medium size companies with process efficiencies related to software implementation and utilization.
Mike enjoys spending time with his two preteen sons, Erik and Josh. They often enjoy swimming, skiing, camping, and watching YouTube videos.
